Day 2

sort of

At the end of this post I will be listing everyone who has backed me thus far and believe me when I say that I am extremely grateful to all of you. As I'm typing this I'm at 31 backers and $2,604! how crazy is that! it's an amazing amount in just over 24 hours and I still have so far to go. Like a rocket I have burned out my first set of engines or whatever... (do they still do that?) and I'm hoping they got me far enough that I can burn steadily from here on out.

[don't judge me for my lack of accurate rocket knowledge]

so some serious issues:

Fracking... how will I address Hydrofracking the doc is about economics And environmental health, and personally I'm against it, but I would be a terrible documentary filmmaker if I didn't address it from both sides. I have to address it because it's a big deal in this area and unavoidably ingrained in my subject. time to learn how to suspend my own beliefs so I can fairly represent another.

Displacement... WHEN binghamton property values rise what will happen to all those citizens who have grown up in Bing but can't afford to live here when property values rise? that's a terrible thing to happen to individuals but is it a terrible thing to happen to the area? economically, probably not. How am I going to address this catastrophic situation?

There are more but I'll post about those at a later date.

This weekend I'm camping with my family because I haven't seen them in a few months, so there will be few/no posts until probably tuesday.

I have been networking networking networking for this KickStarter campaign. yesterday I worked for about 10-12 hours throughout the day on it, today I've spent at least 4-5

Another issue: I don't know how to feel about family backing my project. I love them and I know they love me but I feel so guilty when people do things for me and i can't reciprocate.
MORAL OF THE STORY: If you want to make independent films you need to learn how to accept generosity without being embarrassed. if someone offers to help you you can't tell them "no". you either have to accept it or find a different way for them to help. Learn Humility.
